Sarah and Elise named their business after the E.E Cummings poem, "I Carry Your Heart."

In the poem Cummings writes,

"Here is the deepest secret nobody knows 

(here is the ROOT of the ROOT and the BUD of the BUD

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows 

higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) 

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart ,

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)."

Not only is this a popular poem to read at many wedding ceremonies (which we used to shoot together), but it also rings true a bit about who we are and what we do.

The Root {About Sarah}

Sarah is a momma first, photographer always and lives in a happy home in Foxboro, Massachusetts with her husband, four children and ridiculously large dog named Georgia. When she is not busy changing diapers, she is likely editing photos, trying to capture memories of her children, or telling Elise that she is by far her favorite person (and partner) on the planet. Sarah believes that she is the Root, keeping the team grounded and Elise is the Bud– outwardly beautiful and feisty to the world. When Sarah is mellow, Elise is Silly. When Elise is rocking out to your wedding song, Sarah is singing it quietly in her head. While Elise is wrangling families for photos, Sarah is likely rolling in the grass trying to get a good angle. And when all is said and done, it just....works. And that's really all that matters.

The Bud {About Elise}

Elise is a boy-momma, wife to a veteran (thank you for your service Andrew!), and has planted roots for her family in Rutland, Massachusetts with her dog Kahlua. Yes, her dogs name does say a bit about her personality. She is outgoing, fun, and... insanely organized. She makes friends everywhere she goes and has an eye for creativity. Considered the "face" of the team. Or the "bud of the bud," Elise will not only become your photographer, but your bud.
